Poems for Sustainability

Recently, I’ve felt a growing sense of responsibility to take action “nel mio piccolo” in the area of environmental sustainability. But what can a poet and educator do?

Timidly picking up my pen, I submitted two poems to the Loving Earth Project, a community project that holds textile exhibitions throughout Great Britain to help people around the world to engage creatively and constructively with sustainability issues, without becoming overwhelmed. What good news!

Recently published, my English jueju “Mend the World” and Japanese haiku “Hanami” feature alongside colorful photographs of handcrafted textile panels in this coffee-table, softcover edition. The book can be purchased through the British bookseller Waterstones and the American publisher Pendle Hill Books.
